Is Defragmenting my Laptop Computer safe? Would it affect my current settings and programs if i do so?

Is it really safe to do Defragmentation regularly? because I’m planning to defragment my laptop and it’s my first time to do it, that’s why I’m hesitating that it might not be a good idea, and I’m not sure what will happen after. Would it change the current arrangements and settings and everything in my computer?

It doesn’t do anything to your settings, documents, programs. All it does is move the files on the disk so that they are physically closer to other files in the same program or area. It keeps the disk from over working as it seeks files.

It can take a long time if it’s never been done. Like hours of time. Just start it at night, and it’ll be done in the morning.

for speed enhancement its better to clean registry, defrag it and clean windows junk through some effective tool like the intel software partner, reinout: http://ibx.intel.com/directory/productpage/tabid/85/language/en-us/p-4869-reginout-pc-optimizer-reg-cleaner.aspx

Yes. Its safe.

No a disk defrag won’t change anything in your computer, on the contrary, it helps the machine to function much better and faster.
Do a cleaning of the disk first. Use the program that comes preinstalled in your computer. Start/All Programs/Accessories/System tools/Disk cleaner.
Windows comes with a defrag program of which I am not a big fan.Quite slow and…..download instead this one

You might also do a registry cleaning, it gives your machine a big boost

They are both safe to use
Clean your browsing history, temps files etc… open internet explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Browsing History. Click delete/Delete All/ also delete files and settings stored by add-ons/ok
Refresh or Reset your browser, you’re ready for a new start
Good Luck♣♣

laptop sleeve 17.I write. A lot. At least 50 articles a week, sometimes 10 a day. All are 400+ words. I mainly write articles online in exchange for compensation. With that said, I would need a laptop computer that has a decent text editor, internet access (preferably WiFi certified), and an image editing program.

What would be the best laptop for the price?

Dell is hard to beat for performance and value. The writing will come with the software, ie MS word

I think Sony Viao laptops would be best for writer but the quantity you are talking about is heavy so you should buy a computer because laptops keyboard is so sensitive rather than computer keyboard.
