How to transfer a computer game to a laptop computer?

I recently purchased The Sims2 Double Deluxe computer game disc. I want to play it on my laptop but it doesn’t have a disc slot. Is there anyway I can simply transfer the game’s data from my PC to my laptop computer?
Thanks.
sorry, netbook.

If your “laptop” doesn’t have a disk drive, it’s not a laptop, it’s a netbook. You’ll need an external drive.

You can’t transfer programs (a game is a program), they have to be installed.

A better question to ask is… Can your netbook run the game at all, if it doesn’t even have an optical drive?

reconditioned laptops.i need to buy a new laptop but i dont know what the best one would be for my specifications. i really only need it for basic stuff like pictures and music, but i need to store a lot of both. i also watch movies/tv shows online. and since i am going to college i need a computer with long battery life so that i can bring it to classes.
what computer brand/model would you recommend for someone like me, i really dont know much about computers so any recommendations are appreciated.
tia!

In my personal opinion i think that you should buy a macintosh computer. they are easly accecable and very easy to use they cannot get viruses from the internet and usually wont slow down. you can buy like a microsoft office for the mac or you can buy the mac version of microsoft office it is very nice and accecable

well you’re a student and you don’t play high end games. so a netbook or low end laptop would be very ideal. i know here in the UK you can get them for under 200 pounds. I would recommend eepc, advent, HP, Compaq any popular type of manufacturer will sell these types of laptops.

what you want to look for is an intel atom processor, these are designed to use as little power as possible. and so, will extend that battery life.

i have heard of netbooks and low end laptops go for up to ten hours battery life.

also, don’t pay too little for your laptop. because like everything with computers you get what you pay for. i would say between 175 and 250 dollars, or even 300 dollars at the most.

don’t worry too much about your memory, that is your RAM, because you’re using the laptop for basic usage, and it doesn’t matter too much about that because it won’t affect the performance of the machine =]

Also, This is my personal opinion, but if you want stuff like microsoft’s office suite, there are things you can get for free that are totally compatible with it and do the exact same thing. go to www.openoffice.org and download the suite =] perfect for any student it has served me well in the last 4 years i’ve been studying and working in the IT industry.

And storage wise you can get external storage i know you can get hard drives up to a terabyte, that is, 1000 gigabytes, which is roughly equivalent to…i think it’s around 400 blank dvds. which can already hold a LOT of data. roughly equivalent to around 500,000 photos. so if you need storage, my advice is go out and buy a USB memory stick or external hard drive. don’t use floppy disks as they are very susceptible to losing your data.

Hope i helped =] enjoy your new laptop =]

HPs are cheap and durable.
