Do EPSON, DELL, INFOCUS Projectors come with a lamp without charging extra.?

i researched projectors exhaustively for months in this price range. personally i did not want to hang a huge projector from the ceiling, so i looked at several business projectors and was disappointed by the picture quality and loud fans. it just didn’t feel like being at the movies. so i bought this projector for its renound picture quality and resigned myself to hanging it from a ceiling beam in my loft, hoping an earthquake wouldn’t knock it down onto my wife or my small dog. i was delighted to find that the long throw distance, vertical and horizontal lens shift, and zoom made a killer picture from all the way in the back of the room on a shelf. no hanging necessary. this flexibility is unmatched in the dozens of projectors i looked into, making it the only choice. the image is epic with amazing color. couldn’t be happier. and i have only watched appletv which is 720p. wait till i get one of those blue-ray things.

My last projector was an Optoma 625dx. DLP, Resolution of 1024 X 768, 2500:1 contrast ratio. At the time, I thought it was great, so keep that in mind as I review. (I’m not one to replace every year, just when my last one breaks) 105 inch screen.
I spent this evening playing various scenes from some of my favorite movies (Streets of Fire, The Wild Bunch, Grand Prix, Goodfellas, The Bourne Identity and Forbidden Planet); my jaw is now sore from dropping so many times. I’m also quite amazed at how user friendly this projector is. My seleco was extremely finicky, and the setup process could be quite tedious at times. The Epson gets you right into the ball park as soon as you turn it on, and helps to make fine tuning more fun than a chore.

This is the mount I used: Atdec TH-WH-PJ-FM Telehook Universal Projector Flush Mount

If you are shopping for a projector – 1080p, this shoud definitely be on your list.

I purchased the Epson Powerlite HC8350 on-line last Black Friday for $ 999. Prior to this, I owned a Sanyo 720p LCD Projector – the PLV-Z4 – which I bought in May 2006 when 1080p was still just coming out. Because 1080p back then was hyper-hyped and super-pricey and I was just entering the front projector world, I decided to settle for a 720p projector and thought would just upgrade to 1080p when the price is more reasonable or when my PLV-Z4 dies or whichever comes first. The money that I saved, I spent on a nice projector screen – a 110″ Stewart Filmscreen Firehawk.

My wife calls it over-the-top, but the buddies call it “sick.” (An apparent reference or slang for amazing.)

I do like the fact that the projector is white because it sits up at ceiling level and thus would only be more conspicuous in black, particularly given its’ large size. And the remote is nicely layed out and backlit.

The lens shift magic is very neat. No keystone adjustment required. You can adjust the picture to move up/down/left/right just as if you were moving the projector. The image stays square and true – it just moves to the spot you want it.

I was using Dell DLP DLP 1210 projector earlier. It gave me good service. Till I receive this Epson 8350, I was impressed with my Dell projector. The only drawback was it did not have HDMI input. Now I have received this Epson projector and it has erased image of Dell DLP from my mind. Out of the box, I was amazed to see the size of this projector. It really exceeds your imagination Rather too big to handle. The picture quality is very nice and is maintained top level even if you start increasing the Image size. Even at 120″ x 120″

You no longer need the budget of Steven Spielberg to equip a home cinema with crystal sharp projected images. This machine, out of the box, delivers excellent quality 1080p motion picture images. At a throw of about 10 feet, you can fill an eight-foot wide screen. Darken the room and lower the bulb’s output to save on it’s expected life and you will swear you are watching a movie at the local multiplex (assuming you have Bluray and a modest sound system. This machine is well worth $ 4,000, but now available at around $ 1200, it’s worth every penny. Treat yourself.

Q&A: Do EPSON, DELL, INFOCUS Projectors come with a lamp without charging extra.?

I just wanted to echo what another reviewer wrote (first entry) about the bulb failing early in my 8100 – I had mine fail after about 600 hours. I called Epson the next day, got a nice dude named Jake on the phone, he walked me through removing the bulb and inspecting it. After no headway there, he simply took my address and name and sent a new one. I told him I had owned it about 3 months, but he didn’t ask for any serial #, receipt or anything. 3 days later, it showed up and has been working for thousands of hours since!

When it finally arrived (I knew it was big from what I read), I was surprised at how big it was. At 16 plus pounds, it was quite heavy too. It had a very nice finish that I like. I had to change the arms of my universal mount as the HC8350`s 4 mounting holes are widely-spaced. Glad that my universal mount kit which I bought in 2006 had arms long enough. When I got to finally install it, made few adjustments and saw the image on my Firehawk, it was like seeing a front-projected image for the first time again. My eldest commented that it was like a giant plasma screen. Everything that was written about this projector is true. That it will exceed your expectation. It did mine. I just hope that the bulb will last as advertised.
I feel like I should have more details about how to install it or configure it, but really it was very, very simple. Basically just hook it up, use the lens shift to tweak it, connect an HDMI cable to it and your working.

The brightness is more than adequate. The use I purchased it for was in a small church (less than 100 people with a very low ceiling and a side wall of windows). I installed at night – and the ‘cinema’ setting, or living room setting was stellar. We use the dynamic view in general, as it is the brightest, but for home use, the less intense, bulb and energy saving modes would be perfect. I will be buying one for myself when I need a new ‘tv’.

I could not be happier with the Epson 8350. Electric Projector screens here in Japan are also quite ridiculously priced, so I am buying the screen in the US as well. Electric screens in the 120 inch range here overseas are $ 1200 and up. USA $ 200-$ 300 for a solid Mustang or Favi. FAVI by the way has the worst customer service of all time. I ordered one a month ago, got a confirmation and expensive shipping (no problem~) and they never shipped it. Stick to a different vendor.

I would definitely recommend this to others.

this is the first projector I purchase. after a lot of searching I chose the 8350 and was kind of worried about daytime viewing. but once i started it up i was amazed at at the picture quality and clarity, every one that comes over is surprised at the clarity and the size i’m getting out of the 9′ distance..120″ screen I’m very satisfied with this projector, yes black aren’t superb but they are great for the price. Netflix looks awesome from my ps3 (through HDMI). 3D really isnt worth it right, now not enough stuff out there and technology is barely growing. so it shouldn’t really be a big factor for most. plus 3d glasses only look good when you staring straight you cant tilt or move too much or you will lose the effect and even with 3d tv’s you will notice the picture looks less vivid through the glasses so the images lose punch.

this projector delivers. Imagine watching your fav movies or playing your fav games in a small theater, this is how you get there Great price, totally worth it, don’t waste your money on cheaper products, you get what you pay for with this baby.

I had a chance to test this projector as I was in the market for an HD projector. The image quality is excellent as is the black levels. The fan noise is minimal and it’s bright.

Who is the authorised dealer for Infocus projectors in India?

I had to adjust very little in the image to get a quality, natural result. The 8350 has plenty of adjustment settings if you wish, including advanced gamma and sharpness settings. A quick color temperature adjustment and enabling of the auto-iris was all I really needed. Eventually, I will calibrate the projector with a calibration DVD, but I’m very pleased with the results out-of-the-box.

Remember, with a home theater projector, the projector is (usually) behind you, not in front of you like a television, so you can’t put the sensor bar on the projector. The answer is quite simple, and that is to use an audio-video receiver or a dedicated HTIB receiver. You plug the console into the receiver just like you would plug it into your television. The receiver will either be in front of you or close enough to the front that you can run the game’s sensor cable to game console without any improvised wiring. Wii games are quite fun blown up to wall size, even though the Wii is not a high definition device. PS3 games and BluRay movies on the Playstation 3 look fantastic. I don’t have an XBOX 360, but if you want to give me one, I’ll be happy to write about it.
I set it at natural brightness, third from the brightest setting and it works just fine in a basement with no controlled lighting. If I turn off all the lights I put it on movie mode.

This is my first projector and I am very impressed. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the 1000 dollar market. It is stunningly sharp.

I tried out the Epson 8350 based on reviews.

I ran one HDMI from my Sony AV Receiver and it works wonderfully displaying PC, Cable TV, Bluray, and Xbox.

The HDMI Cable input may further improve the picture quality.

Though this projector may not compete with the picture quality produced by the HD LED TV 1080P, the excellent picture quality at enlarged size will provide you the fullest satisfaction – never think of investing huge amount in LED 1080P TV

I ceiling mounted it about 13′ from the screen. It throws up to a 130″ picture, nice and clear.

My old sharp xr-10x finally gave way after 6 years of good service. I started researching different 1080p projectors through numerous websites and had my choice narrowed down to 3 (epson 8350, optoma hd20, and viewsonic pro8200). Based on my budget I went with the viewsonic pro. I’m projecting onto a 130″ screen from a distance roughly of 14 feet 10 inches.

How will i project on a wall what camera sees.?

In my point of view, the brightness is important, I dont consider not being able to watch it during the day as an option, and the EPSON delivers. Although manufacturers lumen numbers are never real, this one will put out a VERY BRIGHT picture even in my living room which is VERY bright during the day with 2 full walls 100% glass.

This unit when working is not a bad unit. However, I have received this Auto Iris error 2 times in less than 2 months. There is no fix that an individual can apply; it requires being sent back to the manufacturer. This process is cumbersome as they want to charge you for a brand new unit, and then will refund you once they receive the old unit back. Or you can send your defective unit back and they will over-night another unit to you. Second option doesn’t sound bad, right? Well, it takes 3 weeks for them to turnaround and ship your unit back. If this defection only occurred once, I would give it 4 stars, but twice in less than 2 months not so much.
I have a large oak shelf that holds the projector and several other pieces of gear mounted about 8 feet high in a cathedral ceiling area. It points to a 8 foot screen about 14 feet away. The top of the screen is also about 8 feet high. I also bought a ceiling mount, as I was expecting the need to mount the projector upside down as was necessary with my previous 2 year old home theater projector. With this unit I just set it on the shelf right side up and shifted the image into perfect position in a few seconds. Zoom, focus and image position were a snap to set.

On the negative side, this thing is so big it didn’t work with my current mount so I had to temporarily set it on a table for testing. Fortunately, there is an OmniView glass projector shelf that is also touted to be quite big — it’s a perfect fit for this projector. Some of the thickness is required due to the lens shift capability. If the size is due to trying to cut down the sound, it was well worth the sacrifice.

I paid less than $ 1100 for this projector about what you would expect to pay for a 50″ flat panel but paired with a high quality screen and I’ve got what looks like a 120″ flat panel. I couldn’t be happier with the picture quality and for the price it’s amazing

the picture quality is the same high level. I could not see a bigger picture due to limitations of my hall.

The picture looks excellent. HDTV from the cable box was very vibrant and had good contrast. Even a 480p DVD looked very good projected at 110″. There is an auto aspect ratio mode that in my one experiment was able to appropriately set the right mode when I switched from an HD channel to a standard def channel.

It give good resolutions for the price

the horizonal lens shift is not working. the picture is not moving horizontally but it is moving diagonally up or down instead of moving horizontally left ot right. this is bad.

I’ll start by saying this is my first projector, so my wow factor may be a little more pronounced than some of the pj veterans out there. Also, I was coming from a Dell 37 inch LCD from 2005, which was definitely showing its age in picture quality and black levels, so the bar was already set fairly low from the get go. I will go ahead and agree with most of the other reviews out there that out of the box this projector looks pretty fantastic. I set up the pj with a throw distance of 18.5 from the back of the room on a high shelf (equivalent of the high of a ceiling mount). I chose this spot as it was the most convenient. Living in Hawaii, our house has many windows, and my living room is no exception, so obviously day time viewing was a concern, especially with my chosen throw distance. I will admit that watching the projector with all windows open in the middle of the day is not ideal and will make a darker movie tough to watch. However, the image is still entirely viewable once the shades are drawn and still looks quite good. This will only get better once I finish constructing a home made screen with black out cloth and grey paint (currently projecting onto bumpy dry wall). With that said once night falls (which is when we do the majority of our TV watching), the picture is fantastic. I did very few adjustments to the picture quality and things look great. I am projecting a 100′ image and I will say that I am consistently impressed with the picture, especially when compared the the LED LCD tv I was considering instead (a 47″ vizio at costco). For anyone concerned about installing one of these in an ambient light room like I was, you should know that with proper placement and some decent window shades, this can most certainly be a living room TV replacement, assuming you have the space for a giant screen :) .

on, it covered my whole wall (not even a screen) with stunning imagery, in amazing detailed resolution with brilliant colors. Looking forward to get a screen for the future, but it’s not really needed with the bright projection

Is it possible to plug my jvc portable camcorder to a projector or monitor and show what is being recorded at the time. Sorry if it doesn’t make sense, but this is for an art installation. Just imagine a camcorder on a trip pod and a projection on the wall of what the camera sees at the time. So, if someone was walking into a room and stand infront of the camera, they will see them selves. How would i do this, what equipment do i need?
Projector Stand Portable

Little Dog
Use the camcorder’s AV port and connect the AV cable that came with the camcorder into the projector’s or monitor’s composite video (yellow RCA) video input.

You may need to research how you plan to have the camcorder running continuously and not shutting down or hibernating.

Be sure you “rehearse” this art installation well in advance of the actual exhibit… This includes exactly replicating the amount of time the camera needs to be on and displaying on the monitor/projector… not just plugging it in and seeing if it connects and displays…

I arrived home saw the box by my garage door. I carried it inside. My mind was racing, so I decided to complete my honey do chores i.e. take out trash, walk the dogs, etc after a long hot shower, it was time my first impression was how big the actual projector was. I set it up on a table top and fired it up. After all adjustments were made easily I might add to fit the 120″ elite screen I lowered the lights and it was like the 4th of July. The burst of color all i could say is wow! I then put on a blu-ray (avatar) called my wife and 8 year old daughter down to see. They were silent as they watched. My wife who is very critical was silent my daughter and I also watched in amazzzzement! later I made a couple of video adjustment and it got even better. GREAT PROJECTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s worth it .. No problems , quiet , many options.

I’ve seen some complaints, but it didn’t seem hard to navigate, although it doesn’t let you keep tweaking options one after another as to accept a choice you have to hit the ‘menu’ button which jumps you back to the beginning.

I just hooked it up and I am suprised and completely blown away at the quality of the picture. I upgraded from a 6-year Epson Projector that still worked fine but needed to go. The crisp, bright, and sharp picture is amazing. The contrast settings bring out the blackest of black levels that the other projector just could not display. The lens-shift feature is something not to overlook because it allows you to place it in virtually any position without sacrificing picture quality. I compared this to the Mitsubishi HC4000 and went with this Epson due to the placement flexibility of the lens-shift and have zero regrets.

We have been very pleased with this projector. The distance from projector to screen is 18 feet. The room is 22 feet high with a large bank of windows. The window treatments do not black out the room. We have HD TV, a 1080p blue-ray DVD player and a Roku box (not HD).

I slapped in my son’s 720p Winnie the Pooh movie and about once every 10-30 seconds, the screen became snowy white with static for a few seconds, and then it went away. Sometimes it would go snowy, then black for a few seconds and then it would catch up. Every time this happened, my 2-year old son would turn to me and say “Fix Daddy.” Which was followed closely with a sigh from myself.

This unit replaced my Optoma HD72 that I have been using for a few years. The HD72 is a 720p projector that displays a pretty good picture that I was happy with while watching sporting events, But it was a different story with movies. A lot of movies are coming out that have been filmed very dark, Like the Harry Potter movies. I could not get the HD72 adjusted to display a picture that I was satisfied with. The picture was just to dark with no shadow detail. This projector is a big step up in picture quality. The black level and brightness is significantly better than the HD72. The same Harry Potter movies take on a new look that I will say is awesome. The HD72 is a DLP entry level projector with a very limited zoom lens with no lens shift which made placing it a big pain in the neck. I had to use a magazine or some other item under the adjustable feet to get it leveled and aligned with the screen. This projector with its far better zoom and lens shift make it a breeze to set up and align with the screen. I do not have this projector mounted for the simple reason that I use it in my living room with a smallish 92 inch pull down screen and outside placed on a coffee table on my patio projecting onto a 8 foot by 14 foot screen in my back yard. The picture is absolutely superb on both screens. So far I have found nothing that I do not like about it. For the price it is a steal.

I have this for half a year now. I highly recommend it.

Canon XS40, Great Camera and Super Zoom for the money

Just got one today, and was having a real problem with macro, shots blurring ect. My old Canon S3 was out performing the SX40 in macro. So I took it back to Best Buy, and found a real camera buff working there, and he told me I bought the wrong 8 GB SDHC card a class 4 (4 mb per second transfer rate) which caused the camera to blur, so I purchased a class 10 (20 mb per second) for $10 bucks more, now I love my camera!!!
