Q&A: What is the best scholarship finder on the internet?

I’m looking for lots of college scholarships. I have great grades and lots of extracurricular activities, so I need a good scholarship finder online. Please help!

I have used various scholarship searches and don’t seem too different from each other.

One of the many scholarship searches I used before is Fastweb: http://www.fastweb.com

Once you sign up, you can opt in to allow Fastweb to send you emails about scholarship deadlines and new scholarships.

Out of all the scholarships searches I used before (like scholarships.com, cappex.com, etc.), Fastweb seems to send out the most emails.

By the way, here are specific scholarships that you could try applying for (anyone can do them):

Since you have great grades and lots of extracurricular activities, you might want to check out this scholarship opportunity at: http://www.discusawards.com

It’s this site where you nominate yourself or friends based on certain things, and once you get nominated, you’ll be eligible to be selected as a scholarship winner (I nominated myself successfully, though I have yet to get a scholarship).

Scholarship Points is another fun and easy scholarship opportunity you can try, though you’ll mostly have to rely on luck to win a scholarship. Check it out here: http://www.scholarshippoints.com/10K/?sp=1710375

Every time when I use one, It never has psychiatry. Why? Should i put if i’m interested in that?

Is there something that maybe says Mental Health? Or, Doctor — to be a psychiatrist, you have to be a doctor.

Check to see if they have a subsection of psychiatry, like research, counseling, hospital work. Things like that.

Well for undergraduate studies there is no major for psychiatry. Most people look up information for their graduate studies (i.e. medical school) and see what the schools will accept and then go from there. Most people wanting to get into psychiatry will choose to double major in biology and psychology (most likely a B.S. in Psychiatry because this is more “hard-science” based, which is necessary for medical school). Some people may just choose to stick with a B.S. in Biology and a focus in Neuroscience or also work towards a minor in Psychology as well, but I recommend double majoring in both, as Psychology courses can give you insight into counseling and even neurology medications and treatment issues, while Biology will cover all these other bases regarding health, anatomy, and chemistry. I recommend putting Biology or Psychology or both down, depending on which one you will end up choosing. Much luck!
